Kelly Rowland's destiny finds her co-hosting 'The Fashion Show'

Grammy Award-winning performer and actress Kelly Rowland has had a slight change in her destiny. Instead of singing for her living, the pretty founding member of the top-selling female recording group, Destiny's Child, is now serving as a judge for Bravo's newest creative competition series, "The Fashion Show," that premiered on Bravo on Thursday, May 7, 2009 at 10 p.m.

Rowland is teamed with internationally acclaimed fashion designer Isaac Mizrahi and the two fashionistas are making fashion history on the new show. As fashion's hottest twosome, the dynamic duo - with great fashion chemistry - is joined each week alongside fashion luminary and senior vice president of IMG Fashion, Fern Malus.

The new competition series is produced by 3 Ball Productions for Bravo. JD Roth, Todd A. Nelson and Adam Greener serve as executive producers. Rachel Tu ng serves as co-executive producer and Harper's Bazaar is the official magazine partner.

"The Fashion Show" follows professional designers as they strive to make their mark in the tiffany for sale dog-eat-dog world of fashion and compete for a chance to have their designs sold for the mass retail market.

Each week the designers will be put to the test and will have to face off in two challenges the Harper's Bazaar Mini Challenge, judged by the magazine's special projects director Laura Brown, and the elimination chailenge.

In the end, America will choose which contestant will have a clothing line available for retail and win the $125,000 prize.

Rowland proved a major contributing force to Destiny Child's record-breaking global popularity as they racked up sales of more than 100 million records worldwide while earning three Grammy Awards.

She successfully debuted as a solo artist in 2002 with the album Simply Deep, which sold sale tiffany necklaces over 2.5 million copies worldwide and included the hit single "Dilemma." The duet, with rapper Nelly, earned the Grammy for Best Rap/ Sung Collaboration in 2002 and spent 10 weeks at No. 1 on Billboard's Hot 100. The pretty singer's follow-up album, Ms. Kelly, was released in 2007.

Rowland has appeared in a number of television and film projects including the features "Freddy vs. Jason," and "The Seat Filler," executive produced by Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, and the television series "The Hughleys" and "American Dreams." She also served as a choir leader on NBC's creative competition series "Clash of the Choirs."

Mizrahi brings an enormous amount of designing experience to the team. As the creative director for the Liz Claibome brand, where he oversees design and marketing for the women's apparel and accessories line, the wildly creative top designer has been on top of the fashion heap for almost twenty years.

His passion for fashion has garnered many honors including the fashion industry's most coveted CFDA awards which he has won for an unprecedented four times. In addition, he was awarded a special recognition award in 1996 for the groundbreaking documentary "Unzipped."

In 2003, Mizrahi revolutionized the industry by teaming with Target to launch a collection of chic and stylish clothing and accessories for women. In addition, he oversees various licenses including shoes and home furnishing fabrics.

In 2002 Isaac received the Drama Desk Award for his costume designs for The Women. Most recently, he made his costume design debut at the New York Metropolitan Opera with Orfeo ed Euridice.

Fern Mallis makes up the third party of this judgmental fashion trio. As senior vice president of IMG Fashion, Mallis is widely credited as the creator of New York "Fashion Week" that was launched in 1993, under the auspices of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), where she served as executive director for 10 years.

7th on Sixth, as it was originally named, was created to organize, centralize and modernize the runway collections. 7th on Sixth provided a platform for American designers to become competitive players within the global fashion community.

Acquired by IMG in July 2001 and now called IMG Fashion, the company under Mallis' leadership currently produces Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York and Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Miami Swim.

In addition to overseeing IMG Fashion's U.S. events, Mallis is actively involved in the growing portfolio of events around the world, including fashion weeks in Mumbai, Moscow, Sydney and Berlin among others.

She travels frequently to international fashion capitals providing her expertise in creating and organizing fashion events as well as in establishing an international marketing and communications platform for fashion weeks globally.

Bravo is a program service of NBC Universal Cable Entertainment, a division of NBC Universal one earrings of the world's leading media and entertainment companies in the development, production, and marketing of entertainment, news, and information to a global authence.

Bravo has been an NBC Universal cable network since December 2002 and was the first television service dedicated to film and the performing arts when it launched in.

Reco is the only African American contestant which is not the only distinction setting him apart from his competitors. His creative outlook on fashion goes hand-inhand with his larger-than-life personality. Originally from Chattanooga, Tennessee, one wonders how this country boy developed such a creative outlook on fashion.

Reco is proud of his modest beginnings. He realized his interest in fashion at a young age, while watching a Valentino fashion show on Oprati. Reco obtained his B. S from Tennessee State University and has a strong background in architecture and performing arts. He describes his style as ultra glamorous and oozing with high voltage sex appeal.

The budding fashion star designer moved up in the industry from designing costumes for campus queens to dressing celebrities, and is now approaching his tenth year in the fashion industry as a freelance designer.

Reco currently owns the studio 423 Clothing Boutique of Chattanooga and is the creative director of his own line, "The House of Chappie," which he describes as a lifestyle line focusing on everything from luxurious gowns to sexy swimsuits and most he is delving into fragrances, jewelry, and even books aimed at helping young entrepreneurs. When it comes to fashion tips, Reco declares, "Do it!" And then, pause of reflection, states "...but don't overdo it."
